Insomniacz, B2T, Neon Glam, Vicious Circle V Hi Oktane & Kiddfectious have teamed up to bring you 5 Arenas of upfront Dance Music..

With Insomniacz's return it would be fair to say the quality has now returned to fill a huge void in the clubbing scene. Insomniacz events are the talk of UK Clubland. We have upped the ante and raised the bar by returning in 2009. 2009 was probably one of the most successful years in our 10 year history although 2010 is set to be even bigger.

April 2009 seen the reunion which was a real sell out. 1600 clubbers attended the 1200 capacity of the Corporation in Sheffield, September seen Insomniacz celebrate our 10th birthday at the O2 Academy and 1200 clubbers attended this. The Insomniacz arena at the Atomik Weekender 2 was packed at 8am on a Sunday morning (when you all should have been asleep), New Years Eve at Fantasy Island saw 2500 clubbers in attendance and then there was the very special New Years Day event with B2T @ Gatecrasher that smashed everyone’s expectations and kicked off what is set to a very special partnership between Insomniacz & B2T. Last but certainly not least Insomniacz finally teams up with Kiddfectious who Present – ‘All Stars Got Talent’. The All Stars room at the recent Kiddfectious v Judgement Sundays event at the Warehouse Project was arguably even more electric than the main room, and was the perfect demonstration of why these lads are the ones to watch for 2010.

Our 2 year plan for UK domination starts at Magna. This first event takes Hard House back to its roots. We also bring Dance Music right up to date with the very successful Kiddfectious who will bring Hardstyle & Hard-Tech to the masses on April 3rd 2010.

The visual/production & planning that’s gone into this will boast the biggest live Laser shows ever witnessed in the UK as well as live Fire Eaters, Grinders, Circus type acts, Dancers & 4 banging sound systems.

This is not your normal run of the mill event at the same old club with the same DJ’s playing. Magna is spectacular and I’m sure you will agree this is the most up front and in your face line up ever seen up North...

Firstly, thanks to everyone who came to Kissdafunk at Mission on Friday. What an incredible night that was. Laidback Luke and Steve Angello were awesome and I for one had lots of fun. I hope you guys all did too. Blackpool was also an incredibly cool night so thanks for everyone who came and partied with us.

This weekend I'm looking forward to being back with my friends from Parlez Vous in Bradford. That should be mayhem as Howard Marks should be playing in the second room. Perhaps I'll see a few of your there!

Just to quick up date to let you know what I'm up to this week. Well, I'm finishing off the three harder tracks I was working on with Technikal (Alf) last week; so they should be getting an airing soon.

Also I've got a couple of gigs this weekend to prepare for. Looking forward to the Big Reunion. Those parties are completely mad. Also KDF debuts at Toyko in Bradford. It's the shiny new venue owned by the guys who own one of my favourite clubs, Digital in Newcastle; so that should be great. Luke Pompey who is one of our newer KDF residents will be playing alongside me.

How has the Summer been for you?
The summer was amazing thank you. I played lots of festivals and kept going back and forth from Ibiza to play for Kissdafunk at Judgement Sunday which was pretty awesome. The crowd was just really up for it and so supportive. I really enjoyed Ibiza this year.

What's been your biggest track this summer?
That's a tough question as there as I number of big records I've been playing the last few months. One I'm particularly enjoying is 'Open Your Heart' By Axwell. I've done a bit of a remix of it to give it the Rob T treatment and that's getting some pretty good reactions.

Tell us about your own night Kissdafunk? It's been a few years now, what has been your highlight?
That's another tricky question as there have been loads. We always love it when David Guetta plays in Leeds. The fans go mental and it really it a special feeling. It's really reminds me of the original acid house days, when the energy was completely raw and fresh. Erick Morillo was also a big highlight for us.

What's the strangest thing that has happened at one of your gigs?
Strange things have a habit of happening to me. One particular incident was when I was at Kissdafunk at Mission, racing about trying to get things sorted when I hit the top of my head on a piece of decor. I tried to carry on until someone pointed out I has blood gushing out of my head. They drove me to A&R and gave me shot of adenaline and 32 stitches. I still made sure I got back to play my set though. That adrenaline shot must've really done the trick

Which producers have really caught your eye over the last couple of years?
Laidback Luke is one producer who has really caught my eye. The amount of great stuff he is producing is incredible. We're thrilled to be having him play for us at Mission in Leeds on 28th November

You have taken Kissdafunk all over the world. why has been your favourite place to party?
It sounds boring but I love playing to our crowd in Leeds. The vibe is always immense, you just can't touch it. Ibiza is also really good fun as many UK KDF fans make the effort to come out and see us. That's always a great feeling

Kissdafunk is making its debut in Liverpool. What should the Liverpool crowd expect?
Liverpool is a bit of legendary city when it comes to dance music so I always look forward to playing there. I haven't played in Liverpool for over a year so I'm really looking forward to it. I"m sure the Merseyside crowd will love what we do. It's based cutting-edge house music that makes you dance as soon as you hit the cloakroom queue

Who would you most like to see behind the Kissdafunk decks?
As I mentioned before, we're really looking forward to welcoming Laidback Luke. OTher than that I think David Guetta and Erick Morillo are my favourites. And if Carl Cox ever wants to pop in and do a house set I've very much like to support that:

What's next on the horizon for Kissdafunk and yourself?
We're just really busy at the moment doing loads of tour parties as well as running the Leeds parties. We've got some exciting residencies in the pipeline. As for myself I'm working on loads of tunes at the moment. I'm also involved in an exciting new website service which will launch before the end of the year. Watch out for it, it's going to be ace!

Rob Tissera Short Biography

Rob Tissera is one of dance music’s most prolific stars. A top-selling producer and versatile dj whose technical brilliance and effervescent sets have seen him pack out parties across the globe. His track 'The Day Will Come' is widely considered a dance music classic featuring on many of the 'best of' Dance Music compilations throughout the years.

Tissera’s experience and ability to thrill audiences playing any genre is something only a handful of DJ can match. Famed for his hi-energy sets he’s also rocked audiences playing house, dirty funk, uplifting house or big room high energy trance. The master of the closing set Rob is also often booked for his consistent ability to keep the floor packed to this end: and of course his gregarious personality.

Rob Tissera is one of dance music’s most prolific stars. A top-selling producer and versatile dj whose technical brilliance and effervescent sets have seen him pack out parties across the globe.

His track 'The Day Will Come' is widely considered a dance music classic featuring on many of the 'best of' Dance Music compilations throughout the years.

Tissera’s experience and ability to thrill audiences playing any genre is something only a handful of DJ can match. Famed for his hi-energy hard trance and hard house sets he’s also rocked audiences playing dirty funk, uplifting house or big room trance. The master of the closing set Rob is also often book for his consistent abilty to keep the floor packed to this end and his effervescent personality.

Over the years he’s played every big party. He’s been a regular at Gatecrasher, Tidy Weekenders, Radio One, Galaxy, The Gallery, Tidy Weekenders, Frantic, Slinky, Ministry of Sound, Sundissential, Hacienda, Pam’s House, Hard House Academy, Union, Godskitchen, GoodGreef , Global Gathering, Gatecrasher Sound Systems, Euphoria, Creamfields and Homelands to name a few.

Rob is also regular in Ibiza and has held hard dance residencies at Tidy, Lashed, Sundissential Garlands and Tonic. He's graced the hallowed turntables of Radio One, not once, but twice - something only DJ elite ever get to do. The first time was with a converted Essential Mix and the second, a live mix from Radio One’s Weekend in Ibiza.

A forward thinking dj Rob is constantly embracing new technology in music. A world-class remixer Rob re-edits the majority of tunes he plays which gives the audience a unique musical experience. Such is his skill on the decks he mixes using three decks and two CDJs overlaying each song with accapellas and effects to add to the Tissera experience. His sets are really something to behold.

Rob has conquered the world USA, Australia, Czech Republic, Canada, Singapore, Ibiza, South Africa, New Zealand and most of Europe.

Apart from being a skilled DJ Rob is a world-class and top-selling music producer. In 2002 “The Day Will Come” produced under his pseudo name Quake with Ian Bland shot to number 30 in the UK charts. This led to three tracks being commissioned for the award winning soundtrack of the cult movie ‘Human Traffic Soundtrack”. Quake’s 1998 remix of York ‘The Awakening’ sold over a quarter of million copies and reached number 11 in the charts. And with tunes today getting to number one by selling less than 25 thousand this is some mile stone.

As a result he’s was asked to remix a string of high selling remixes for people such as Blank and Jones, Judge Jules, Eddie Halliwell, ATB, Anne Savage, Armin Van Buurin, The Tidy Boys. In 2004 he reached the top 100 UK chart again - this time with his uplifting hard dance tune with “Stay” which he co-produced with Vinylgroover and The Redhed which was acclaimed by industry and clubbers alike.

Rob Mixes Judgement Sundays The Mix 2008

Judgement Sundays, the album, is back for 2008. This time, bigger and better as it teams up with club-phenomenon Kissdafunk providing the ultimate summer dance experience.

True to form Judge Jules, mixes up the big room 'Judgement Sundays' sound on CD1 while, djing legend and Kissdafunk main man Rob Tissera gives us a dose of cutting-edge and big-room house on disc two.

The Kissdafunk disc is to celebrate the coming together of the two parties at Eden, Ibiza this season when KDF takes over the newly extended second room at Judgement Sundays for the true ' party within a party.' night out.

Judge Jules' trancetastic mix on CD1 includes the biggest records on his Radio 1 show from the hottest producers on the scene. Standout tracks come from trance giants such as Above & Beyond, Warrior, Ernesto & Bastian and Agnelli & Nelson.

Rob Tissera represents Kissdafunk's raw energy on CD2 with a selection of cool house destined to be the soundtrack for the year. Hot talent such as Fedde Le Grand, Seamus Haji, Steve Angello & Sebastian Ingrosso feature alongside some gems from residents Filthy Rich and Marc Leaf.

The first KDF at Judgement Sundays party takes place on Sunday June the 15th with Rob Tissera, KDF JS resident Micky Slim and LMP DJs in the KDF Room. The award-winning party will then return every other week until the closing party on 21st September.

Says Rob;" Like with everything I do this CD should represents a peak time set. As soon as people switch it on I was them to be unable to resist the urge to dance. Whether it's dancing on the couch, singing along in the car or going mad on their iPod I want this CD to put a smile on their face."

Judgement Sundays at Eden is still the most famous club night in San Antonio, Ibiza as Judge Jules' Radio 1 show goes from strength-to-strength. The teaming up with Kissdafunk only improves the quality of the latest in the 'Judgement Sundays' series.

Rob Tissera takes time out to talk to Slinky!

AF: Firstly, hey! Long time no see, or so it always seems as we only ever meet in passing these days, hectic schedule at the moment?
RT: Yep, I like to busy.

AF: And secondly… I’m so happy that ‘The Day Will Come’ has been re-released, everytime I hear it I smile like an idiot! (When I was first told Slinky was no longer to be held at The Opera House and the ‘last Slinky @ Oh’ was originally going to be on NYE, I called Rob straight away and said I’d like him to play and play it as his last tune! It reminds me so much of Slinky and the balls at the BIC.)
I know I’m a bit slow (as it was released in early 2005) but its something I had to bring up… just in case there was anyone out there who hadn’t, by some odd circumstances, heard it for themselves yet!
RT: Thanks very much. It’s definitely musically the best thing I’ve been involved with.

AF: And your house night based in Leeds, Kissdafunk, soon to be 3 years old and the most exciting, talked about, fresh night out there, how the hell do you do it? I swear there aren’t enough hours in the day, what do you eat for breakfast to keep you going? Any tips?
RT: You can’t go wrong with a bowl of Crunchy Nut Cornflakes; washed down with the odd can of Redbull.

AF: I remember getting a house mix off you about 5 years ago and thinking, wow, this is ace, and now look at you, how many dj’s do you know that are well respected by every clubber around for playing two or three genre’s really well… as well as being a focused promoter? What are your in-fluences in the house scene? Do they go back to when you were a kid?
RT: Currently I’m very much influenced by the cutting-edge talents of Sebastian Ingrosso, Axwell and Steve Angello. It’s great that these guys are prepared to push the boundaries. In terms of play-ing house I actually started off my career playing this genre in the acid house days, so it’s like re-visiting an old friend.

AF: You’ve booked some great names for Kissdafunk, I see David Guetta is a bit of a regular. Nice to see some different bookings… Who have you got coming up?
RT: We’ve got Jonathan Ulysses at our Ibiza Re-Union gig on 24th November and Seamus Haji re-turns for out Boxing Day gig. Then early next year we’ve got Mark Knight, Tocadisco, Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso and David Black.

AF: Who would you love to book, dead or alive, money no object…?
RT: We’re fortunate to have booked many of the guys that I love already... but I suppose it would be nice to add Erick Morillo to the squad.

AF: And where would you put on the party, anywhere in the world? Paint me a picture…!
RT: I’d love to book all the big Djs that I’ve mentioned already to play alongside our resident in a three room venue in the centre of England so every one for around the UK could get to it.

AF: So tell me something few people know, a funny story maybe? A real one though…
RT: I once saw an elephant riding a tricycle at a tidy weekender. He kept banging a kipper on the table in tune to at Tony De Vit track.

AF: You have travelled all over in the past, with Slinky specially, what’s the strangest place you’ve been to or oddest thing you’ve seen on your travels?
RT: I was playing for Slinky in Manilla in the Philippines once. I was in my hotel watching a story about a very militarily coup going on to overthrow the government with hundreds of army guys with guns. I thought to myself ‘Wow, that looks really scary’. I then opened the curtain and realised it was happening outside my hotel. That was pretty unreal.

AF: What do you love about Slinky? I mean Slinky loves you so I wondered if you loved us back?!
RT: I adore Slinky. I love the warmth of the crowd and I’ve met some of my favourite people through the party. I also love the fact that it’s got a really educated crowd which means I can play lots of trance as well as my harder sounds. It’s easily one of the best parties I’ve played; and I’m not just saying that, I truly tell people this all the time.
AF: Aww bless you Rob, you made our day!! :-) Well there’s so much more I would love to ask you but I know you are a busy man so we’ll leave at that.

Interview with Rob Tissera ahead of the release of his track Holdin. ON

The Hard House circuit is a pretty unforgiving place for any DJ, today’s hero could all too possibly be forgotten tomorrow; how do you keep yourself ahead of the game?

I put a lot of energy into creating my own version of other people's music so my sets are always unique and unpredictable. I also make sure I tailor the music the crowd and club I'm playing for. right music for the club I'm playing for. I think this is very important as at the end of the day it's about the people who come to see me. I also still practice a lot. I think you need to do this to keep ahead of the game and keep up the freshness and energy.

Your myspace page is littered with funk-da-this and funk-da-that, and your music genre is described as hardhouse / house. How would you describe “Rob Tissera” hard house?

My hard house is a cross between filthy bass driven hard house married with hard trance. I also like to always have some vocal identity. A typical set will have me playing something quite dark but then I'll come back into the light with a big tune. This ensures you keep the interest of the crowd.

I’ve been listening to your rather superb new track Holdin On, released on Tidy, can you tell me a bit about the track and Quakes involvement?

Late last year I discovered the vocals in my studio which I'd originally had done when Ian (Quake) and myself were putting together tracks for the Original Human Traffic Soundtrack. Unfortunately we could only shoehorn three tracks in so they vocals were left on the cutting room floor so to speak. When I found them again last year I realised they were awesome and set about making a track with them and got back in the studio with Ian.

The release is included on the first volume of the Tidy Music Library, a new concept for the label, what do you make of this new approach to releasing material?

Its great. It give people the opportunity to buy 8 or more tracks in one go from the cream of artists. Having the and album mixed also means its a great way for people a real sense of what's going on in hard dance but in one purchase. For DJs the accapella and extras make it invaluable.

The next second Tidy Music Library release promises that disc two is an exclusive Rob Tissera mix, what sort of material can we look forward to hearing on there?

It will basically include the same Rob Tissera sound as I mentioned in the first two questions. I love fiddling about with tracks so every track with a unique versions you won't get anywhere else. It also includes two other tracks of mine which I've never released. I get a lot of people asking for tracks of mine which I'm not going to release; so this will be a good opportunity for people to own them.

Your summer gig list sees you boomeranging between the UK, Mallorca and Ibiza, what are your top five hard dance records for summer 2008?

If you had to single out one gig as your ultimate ever, which one would you select and why?

Very difficult question as there have been some many amazing experiences. Playing at the very first Global Gathering in the Sundissential tent to 12,000 of my favourite friends was awesome. I also really enjoyed the first Tidy Summer Camp because I had so many people come up to me afterwards and say it' was the best set they've ever heard and it had changed their lives. At the end of the day this is what it's all about. It's pleasing the fans that give me the most pleasure.

We’re delighted to see you on the Weekender line-up in October, do you have a favorite Tidy Weekender?

The March ones alway coincide with my birthday so it always gives me an excuse to behave badly. I'm sure they've all being great except I can't remember most of them.

Your loyal fan-base is massive, have you had any fans that have crossed the line in terms of obsession?

Nothing I can't handle. It's never really been a problem because I love talking to fans and made many good friends over the years. At the end of the day it's about the fans and if they appreciate what I do then the very least I can do is spare some time for them's

Its widely accepted that many DJs can’t actually dance; despite this, what is the one track that is guaranteed to get you on the dance floor and why?

Quench- Dreams: Either the Original of the Paul Glazby Miss Shiba mix. I love that track.

What would make a perfect Saturday night out for you when you are not working?

Dinner in a gorgeous restaurant, followed by a great film at the cinema. They home to play a little bit of Pro Evo washed down with some JD and coke. Then off to bed for a bit of sex olympics before lots of sleep..
